Four Ideas to Knock Around

Kelly Croy, October 2025

Today I am launching something new. It’s unlike anything I have ever done. It involves my whole family, and I hope… you. It’s scary to hit publish and try something new. It’s scary to put your work out there for judgment and ridicule. It’s exciting too. Here I go again. I hope you will join me.

I’ve teased it in my podcasts and newsletters, but today is the day. I am launching a brand with my family to celebrate where we live and how we live. It’s called The Northern Shore. First drop is limited to 50, numbered and signed. You can learn more here: www.TheNorthernShore.com. My girls and I are collaborating. We are celebrating life and putting something positive out there. We are hoping to have fun, learn and share some cool stuff.

3. My Speaking:

October: Fall Conference for the Ohio Association of Administrators of State and Federal Education Programs. I and excited to promote the essential work they do for our most at risk students. I will be keynoting and celebrating these amazing leaders and educators in Colubus, Ohio this October 26.

November: I will be speaking at the OSBA Capitol Conference to superintendents, board members and all amazing educational leaders. It is a great opportunity to celebrate and promote the work of our amazing educators and leaders.

December: I’ll be keynoting the Fall Conference for the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators, Adminstrator’s Assistants. What a fun group to speak with as they look after and help all of us in education. Very excited for this opportunity.

The Dominion Republic: As I learn more I will share, but this opportunity suprised me and flattered me. I am excited to help others lead and make an impact. What a beautiful country.

I hope to meet YOU. I hope to meet you at one of these opportunities or perhaps speak at an event you are hosting.

4. Invest in Yourself…

Never pass on an opportunity to invest in yourself. You won’t accidently bump into the better version of you; you have to say “Yes!” to opportunities when they arrive.

Never pass on something that could make you better. Buy the book that calls to you. Follow the person who’s doing the work you admire. Listen to the talk that stirs something in you. Support a friend’s new idea. Collaborate with someone who challenges you. Step out of what’s comfortable and into what’s possible.

The best investment you’ll ever make isn’t in stocks, things, or stuff; it’s in you. Every small “yes” adds up. Say yes more often to growing yourself, not staying the same.
